Habitante de las profundidades, el esférico cuerpo del Peznell está recubierto por sinuosas escamas circulares parecidas a lentes de fresnell, el conocido instrumento de iluminación teatral. De nado lento pero apetito voraz, el Peznell es bastante territorial y muy respetado por los cardúmenes de peces comunes, a los que suele sorprender con inesperados haces de luz que emanan de su redondo hocico. Aunque de tamaño más bien discreto, es considerado dentro de los grandes peces lumínicos del fondo marino.
A creature of the deep, the Fishnel’s round body is covered in sinuous circular scales resembling the famous theatrical lighting instrument, fresnel. The slow but voracious Fishnel can be quite territorial and is greatly respected among the schools of common fish which it often surprises with flashes of light that unexpectedly spark out of his round snout. Although discreet in size, it is considered one of the big lighting fish of the sea bottom.

Diseñador teatral chileno diplomado en Iluminación y Sonido para Espectáculos por la ENSATT (Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Arts et Téchniques du Theatre) en 1991 en París, Francia. Ha desarrollado su carrera fundamentalmente entre Francia, España y Chile. Su trabajo incluye el diseño de iluminación de más de ochenta montajes de teatro y danza. Con amplia experiencia en el mundo de la música en vivo, diseñó la iluminación del escenario principal del Fórum de las culturas de Barcelona en 2004. Durante seis años estuvo a cargo del diseño de luces de las puestas en escena del conjunto Inti-Illimani en sus giras mundiales. Ha estado ligado al Departamento de Teatro de La Universidad de Chile como profesor de la carrera de Diseño Teatral. En la actualidad participa en el Ballet Nacional Chileno como diseñador de iluminación residente.
Chilean stage designer certified in Entertainment Lighting and Sound at the ENSATT (Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Arts et Téchniques du Theatre) in 1991 in Paris, France. He has developed most of his career in France, Spain and Chile. His body of work includes lighting design for over eighty theatre and dance productions. He also has a vast experience working in live music and he designed the lighting for the 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures in Barcelona. For six years, he worked as lighting designer for the Inti-Illimani band during its world tours. He has taught at the Universidad de Chile in the Stage Design program. He is the current resident lighting designer for the Ballet Nacional Chileno.

“At the beginning of Paris, Texas by Wim Wenders, the main character walks in a straight line towards his birthplace. This scene is a sort of metaphor for what stage design is to me. A voyage inwards, to the source, in search of what- we don’t know- but that will be imbued with all of the images we have encountered throughout our lives.”
