Esta bella criatura marina tiene su hábitat en los arrecifes de coral de la costa chilena. Allí, renueva año a año su caparazón, el que teje ella misma con fibras de algas nativas. De elegante y ondulante nado, el Monsalio es una de las criaturas más inteligentes del océano. En experimentos vigilados, ha demostrado una asombrosa capacidad para resolver problemas con ingenio e incluso usando rudimentarias herramientas. Lamentablemente, todavía es cazado por pescadores artesanales debido a su exquisita carne, que se usa para todo tipo de ceviches y chupes.
This beautiful marine creature inhabits the coral reefs off the Chilean coast. There, each year, it renews its shell, knitting it out of fibers from native algae. The Monsalus is an elegant and sinuous swimmer and one of the smartest creatures of the ocean. Under study it has shown to have an amazing capacity for ingenious problem solving, even capable of using rudimentary tools. It is, unfortunately, hunted and caught by artisanal fishermen for its delicious meat, used for preparing all kinds of ceviches and pies.

Diseñadora teatral de la Universidad de Chile. Máster en diseño de vestuario de teatro, cine, ópera y audiovisuales del Istituto Europeo di Design de Barcelona. En los últimos 17 años se ha especializado en el diseño de vestuario escénico, trabajando con destacados directores chilenos: La Troppa, Luis Barrales, Alfredo Castro, Teatro Cinema, entre otros. Ha trabajado en el diseño de vestuario de las ópera: “Gloria” de Sebastián Errázuriz (GAM); en el Teatro Municipal de Santiago con “La Condenación de Fausto” (2016) y “Mis primeras cuatro estaciones de Vivaldi” (2017).Paralelamente a su carrera teatral es artesana y artista plástica. Su proyecto autoral “Centrípeto”, fue seleccionado el 2015 en la “Cuadrienal de Praga de diseño performance y espacio PQ15” en la categoría “Tribus”. Durante el 2018 y 2019 ejerce el cargo de curadora chilena en la muestra “Innovate Costume of the 21th Century: the next generation”.Actualmente se desempeña en el Teatro Municipal de Santiago y teatros regionales.
Stage design BFA from the Universidad de Chile. Master in theater, cinema, opera and audiovisual design from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Barcelona. For the last 17 years she has specialized in the design of stage costumes, working with prominent Chilean directors and companies such as: La Troppa, Luis Barrales, Alfredo Castro and Cinema Theater. She has designed opera costumes for «Gloria» by Sebastián Errázuriz (GAM); the Teatro Municipal de Santiago’s «La Condenación de Fausto» (2016) and «Mis primeras cuatro estaciones de Vivaldi» (2017). Parallel to her theatrical career she is, also, an artisan and artist. Author of the project «Centrípeto», selected in 2015 for the «Prague Quadrennial of performance design and space PQ15» in the «Tribes» category. During 2018 and 2019 she held the position of Chilean curator in the exhibition «Innovate Costume of the 21st Century: the next generation». She currently works at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago and in regional theaters.
