Según los expertos, el origen del Morgajo ocurrió cuando una araña pollito puso sus huevos en la caja de herramientas de un técnico teatral. El calor y la falta de luz, hicieron que los pequeños huevecillos se fundieran con puntas de taladros y alicates de acero con los que el Morgajo cobró vida. Es común ver a esta criatura cerca de tuercas y mecanismos, por los que se siente muy atraído.
According to experts, the Morgawog’s origin can be traced to the moment that a Goliath Birdeater placed its eggs in a theatre technician’s toolbox. The heat and lack of sunlight led the drill bits and pliers to meld with the tiny spider eggs giving birth to the Morgawog. This creature can be spotted easily scuttling among nuts and machinery, of which it is very fond.

Vive hasta los 17 años en La Serena, norte chico. Más tarde se traslada a Santiago para estudiar Diseño Teatral. Además del diseño he ejercido como vestuarista, realizadora y docente. En sus trabajos incorpora labores como el bordado y el tejido aprendidos de niña. Con el tiempo ahondó en el tejido, trasladando la creación de personajes a un formato escalado mediante el crochet. Actualmente combina el Diseño Teatral con su marca Santo Crochet. Bajo el seudónimo de La Warra de las Galaxias, teje figuras generando volúmenes y texturas. La temática es amplia y desprejuiciada, siendo este aspecto su motor creativo. En su trabajo busca generar objetos artísticos de lana, descontextualizando el tejido tradicional para llevarlo a la tridimensionalidad.
She lived in La Serena in the Norte Chico region, until she was 17, when she moved to Santiago to study Stage Design. She has, also, worked as a costume designer, director and teacher. In her work, she practices embroidery and weaving, crafts she learned as a child. She has progressed into working with fabric, transferring character creation into scalable crochet models. She created La Warra de las Galaxias, a pseudonym under which she has developed these crochet projects, weaving figures through a variety of volumes and textures. The subject matter is broad, open and impartial, fueling her creativity. Her work seeks to create artistic objects made of wool, decontextualizing this traditional fabric and bringing it into to a three-dimensionality.
“Creo que la naturaleza humana busca consciente e inconscientemente alimentar más sentidos. Que venga alguien y te traslade. Hay que estimular, marear, sacudir, impactar si se quiere. La conmoción es linda cuando uno se da cuenta que cayó en la magia de algo. Esa es la labor del diseño escénico, es volver material lo imaginable.”
“I believe that human nature consciously and unconsciously seeks to feed the senses. For someone to come and move you. You have to stimulate, faze, shake up or, even, impact. There is a beautiful shock when you realize that you have fallen into the magic of something. That is what design does: it materializes the imaginable.”
